He was predeceased by: his siblings, Roy L. Sargent and Lucille Sargent Platts (Benjamin). He is survived by: his children, Richard Sargent, Jr. (Jamie), Jeremy Sargent (Wendy) of Barnwell, Stephannie R. Sargent, Tammi Arnold and Amber Williams of Barnwell; his brother William Terry Sargent of Sumter; and his sister-in-law Betty Sargent. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to the St. Jude's Children Hospital.
