He was predeceased by: his parents, Vinest Matte and Marie Mier Matte. He is survived by: his wife Judy Gale Matte (Messer); his children, Alvin Rodriquez (Michelle), Kelly Usry (David), Andrea Rue (Jason) and Kim Byas; his stepsons, David Messer, Bobby Messer (Daniell) and Chuck Messer (Beth); and his siblings, John Matte, Rose Cormier, Bertha Gallet and Anna Mae Moreno. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews.
