He was predeceased by: his wife Margie Meeks Hester; and his parents, Henry B. Hester and Belle Walker Hester. He is survived by: his children, Beverley Vaughn (Dudley) of Newnan, GA, Lavonne Jackson of Vidalia, GA and Brandon Hester (Danielle) of Belton, SC.. He is also survived by four grandsons, one granddaughter, and ten great grandchildren.
Due to concerns with COVID-19, the family will hold private services.
