He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Childress and Elizabeth Perkins Childress; his daughter Cindy Childress Shuford; and his siblings, Curtis Childress and Doris Childress Miller.
He is survived by: his wife Mildred Cronic Childress; and his children, William Eugene Childress (Kim) of Birchwood, TN and Kim Childress Gilbreath of Chattanooga, TN. He is also survived by six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; several other extended family.
