He is survived by: his children, Fred Chavis (Christine) of Cheraw, SC, Casey Chavis of Westminster, SC, Ashley Driggers (Joshua) of Bennettsville, SC and April Bowen (John) of Gastonia, NC; his siblings, Paul Smith (Teresa) of Gaffney, SC, Claude Chavis of Bennettsville, SC, Tommy Chavis (Lora) of Cheraw, SC, Betty Hayes of Myrtle Beach, SC, Kathryn Irons of Bennettsville, SC and Lora Littles (Louis) of Bennettsville, SC; his grandchildren, Kailey Driggers, Jacob Driggers, Kelli Chavis, Gabrielle Chavis, Jesse Chavis and Olivia Chavis; and his great grandchild Dawson Rowland.
Visitation was held on Sunday, April 27th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Kiser Funeral Home (1020 State Rd, Cheraw, SC 29520). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 28th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Victory World Outreach Center (535 David's Mill Pond Rd, Bennettsville, SC 29512). A burial was held on Monday, April 28th 2025 at the Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens (1265 US-1, Cheraw, SC 29520).
