He was predeceased by: his father Arthur Douglas "Boonie" Hancock II. He is survived by: his mother Jessie Friedrichs Hancock; his wife Sandy Hopkins Hancock; his daughters, Elizabeth Hancock Klyn (Matthew) and Margaret Hancock Gaddis (Zachary); his sister Katherine Hancock Maxwell; and his friend Doug.
Due to COVID-19, a memorial service for Doug will be held at a later date in 2021 in Bluffton, SC.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Port Royal Sound Foundation, (portroyalsoundfoundation.org).
