With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Idella Sharon Annette Hopkins Akers of Blythewood, South Carolina, born in Bishopville, South Carolina, who passed away on April 13, 2021 at the age of 76. She was predeceased by : her parents, Perry James and Mary Adeline Watkins Hopkins. She is survived by : her son John Akers of Livermore, CA; and her siblings, Eloise Beebout of Lexington, KY and Julius "JB" Hopkins of Kansas City, MO..

At Sharon's bequest, there will be no viewing and due to Covid-19 restrictions, the graveside memorial service will be scheduled for a date to be determined.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Sharon's name to PETS, Inc, The Humane Society of South Carolina at https://www.petsinc.org.
