He was predeceased by: his parents, William Jackson and Mary Freeman Boone. He is survived by: his wife Gloria Major Boone; his sons, Michael Eugene Boone (Kerry) and James Gregory Boone; and his stepson Chris Branham (Linda).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
