With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mary Lee McGinnis McClain of Charleston, South Carolina, who passed away on December 12, 2022 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Rebecca Bayless Ashcraft McGinnis and Claude Augustus McGinnis; her husband Frank Mauldin McClain; and her sister Eleanor McGinnis Robbins. She is survived by: her daughters, Rebecca McClain Newton (Godfrey) of Atlanta, Mary Lee McClain Renken of Charleston and Kate McClain Yeager (Kevin) of Charleston; her brother Claude McGinnis of Atlanta; her grandchildren, McClain Newton, Walton Newton, Helen Renken, Frances Renken, Cade Yeager and Campbell Yeager; her son-in-law Ed Renken; and her caregivers, Lassie Murray, Willetta Brown, Hariett Gadsen, Connie Milligan, Stacy Whack, Mike Bennett and Marcella Freeman.
