He is survived by: his wife Kathie Mahaffey Planton; his sons, Jonathan Reid Planton (Leesa), Ryan Patrick Planton (Ashley) and Drew Christopher Planton; his granddaughters, Ada Grace Planton and Abby Elaine Planton; and his sister Pam Schwacke (Buddy).
