It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William Alton McDowell (Charleston, South Carolina), born in Fitzgerald, Georgia, who passed away on March 19, 2018, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parent Grover Robert McDowell. He is survived by: his spouse Donie Turner McDowell; his parent Dora Mae Stone McDowell; his son Scott Austin McDowell (Ren); and also, Virginia Louise Adkins McDowell, Melissa Mosny (Shane) of Charleston, SC, Teri Hanley (Lee) of Cottageville, SC, Cathy Keller, Kristen Cortez (Emilio), Alyssa McDowell and Ginia Simmons.
He is survived by his children, son, Scott Austin McDowell and his wife Ren" of Copperas Cove, TX, daughter, Melissa Mosny and her husband Shane of Charleston, SC, daughter, Teri Hanley and her husband Lee of Cottageville, SC, daughter, Cathy Keller- Edmands and her husband Stanley of Ravenel, SC; his four grandchildren, Kristen Cortez (Emilio), Alyssa McDowell , Ginia Simmons (Ross), DJ Hanley and five great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Charleston Animal Society, 2455 Remount Road, North Charleston, SC 29406.
