He was predeceased by : his father Otis James McLain Sr.; his brother Bennie McLain; and his brother-in-law Larry Teal. He is survived by : his wife Linda Ann Campbell McLain; and his siblings, Otis James McLain, Jr., Patricia Teal of Cheraw, SC and Teresa Roscoe (Keith) of Cheraw, SC. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
