He was predeceased by: his stepfather James W. Laws; and his uncle Wylie M. Shugart, Jr.. He is survived by: his parents, Edith Shugart Laws and David Marion Sanders, Sr. (Dot); his children, David Marion Sanders III, Travis Richardson, Thorn Sanders, Trace Sanders and Tessa Sanders; his siblings, Elizabeth Sanders (Liz) and Meredith Laws Faircloth (Steven); and his aunts and uncles, Donald Sanders (Deb), Ruth Gladden (Ross), Charles Michael Shugart (Keli) and Cathaleen Shugart.
