He was predeceased by : his parents, Gilbert Thornwell Culp and Mary Lou Dawkins Culp; his children, Edward Eric Culp and Genia Culp Dove; and his brother James Ellis Culp.

He is survived by : his wife Juliette "Judy" Jourdan Culp; his daughter Erin Juliette Culp of Chester, SC; and his grandchildren, Nathan Christopher Dove of Waynesboro, VA, Garrett Dove of Iron Station, NC and Brittany Dove of Iron Station, NC.
