It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gertrude Collins Scates (Chester, South Carolina), who passed away on July 22, 2018, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parent Tan Collins; and her children, David Scates and Vickie Flynn. She is survived by: her parent Ellen Collins; her children, Eddie Scates of Chester, Bobby Scates of Chester, Tim Scates of Chester, Doug Scates of Chester, Shelia Aiken (Lester) of Chester and Tammy Hudson of Forest City, N. C.; her niece Carol Catoe of Forest City, N. C.; and her spouse Jack Scates. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
