He was predeceased by: his parents, Heyward Morris Smith, Sr. and Eleanor Cooke Smith; and his son-in-law Allen "Bud" Leonard. He is survived by: his wife Mary Dodds Smith; his children, Richard "Richie" Morrison, Jr. (Tammy) of Chester, SC, Angie Leonard of Blackstock, SC, Karen M. Turner (Jason) of Chester, SC, Anna S. Laws (Pete) of Concord, NC and Teresa S. Bell (Wayne) of Chester, SC; and his sisters, Brenda S. Mobley of Chester, SC and Sandra S. Etters (Don) of Chester, SC. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
