He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Luther McCants and Katie Revels McCants; and his granddaughters, Martie McKinney and Amy McKinney. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Mosley McCants; his children, Hiram McCants, Jr. (Jane) of Winston-Salem, NC, Paul McCants (Karen) of Lexington, SC, Julina Bright of Chester, SC, Doris Bright (Alfred) of Chester, SC and David Rudder of Chester, SC; and his grandchildren, Tonya Hunter (Brandon McCants), Tony McCants (Emily) of Lexington, SC, Chris Bright (Terri), Jared Bright (Joshua Bright) and Zach McCants (Katelyn Smith). He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Because of the impact of the corona virus the family has decided to have a service at a later date.
