He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Ernest Barrett and Dora Wells Barrett. He is survived by: his wife Linda Combs Barrett; his daughters, Elizabeth Shannon Barrett (David Eberhardt) of Asheville, NC and Virginia Barrett Webb (Robert Boyd, Sr.) of West Columbia, SC; his grandchildren, Grace Elizabeth Webb of West Columbia, SC and Robert Boyd Webb, Jr. of West Columbia, SC; and his siblings, Bruce Barrett of Gahanna, OH and Nancy Arrington of Mannassas, VA. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
