He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Reuben Cassels and Evelyn Gladden Cassels; and his sister Norma Jean Lewis. He is survived by: his daughters, Ruthayn Burnette (Jeff) and Susan Treveiler (Jack); his grandchildren, Carria of Chester, Emma of Chester and Mac Treveiler of Chester; his brother-in-law Carl Bateman of Wilmington, NC; and his pet Bear.
