He was predeceased by: his parents, Wylie and Betty Smith Shugart, Sr.; and his former wife Crystal Caldwell Shugart. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen D. Shugart; his children, Wylie M. Shugart III (Debra) of Seneca, SC, John Michael Shugart of Greenville, SC and Laura Shugart Sigman of Columbia, SC; his siblings, Mike Shugart of Blair, SC, Edith Laws of Chester and Ruth Gladden (Ross) of Chester; his grandchildren, Jacob, Creelynn, Maddie Sigman and Eliza Shugart; and his great grandchildren, Isbella and Hazel Jennings.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made in Mr. Shugarts memory to MUSC Chester.
