He was predeceased by: his parents, Carson Lucas and Grace Boan Rivers; his wife Cora Owensby Rivers; his son Glenn E. Rivers; his grandson Will Horne; and his siblings, Fred, Truett, Jessie, Raymond Rivers, Margie Rae Landon and Linda R. Sellers.
He is survived by: his children, Cynthia Horne (Gettys) of Ruby, SC, Randell Rivers (Jackie) of Chesterfield, SC and Fred Rivers (Teresa) of Chesterfield, SC; his grandchildren, Brian Rivers (Stephanie), Daniel Rivers, Rebecca Rivers, Christopher Hurst, AJ Connelly (Tim) and Evan Poolaw; his great grandchildren, Josh Rivers and Tori Rivers; and his siblings-in-law, Sue Rivers of Chesterfield, SC, Paul Sellers of Chesterfield, SC, Andy Owensby of Morganton, NC and Harvey Owensby. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Chesterfield High School Beta Club, in memory of William Gettys "Will" Horne, III, 401 N. Page Street, Chesterfield, SC 29709.
