He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Sims and Willie Faye Mullis Sims; his siblings, Bud Sims, Frances Kay Sims and Martha Lynne Sims; and his siblings' children, Jennifer Lee Sims and Wesley Sims.
He is survived by: his wife Viola H. Sims; his sons, Charles Elliot Sims of Pageland, SC, Timothy Ellis Sims (Tara) of Pageland, SC and Joshua Lynn Sims (Betty); his grandson Thomas Cody Stegall; and his siblings, Jerry Michael Sims of Hartsville, SC and Becky Wright of Lumberton, NC.
