It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charles E. Sams of Clifton, South Carolina, born in Glendale, South Carolina, who passed away on January 13, 2021, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Everette Sams and Estelle McKinney Sams; his stepchildren, Charles Attaway (Debbie) and Linda Ross; and his sisters, Sarah M. Long, Mary J. Bennett and Nellene Hunter.
He is survived by: his stepsons, Danny Attaway (Margaret) and Clifton Attaway (Lee); his siblings, Robert E. Sams, Alice R. Tutterrow (Joe) and Katie Teeler (Jimmy); his brother-in-law George Hunter; and his stepgrandson Adam Attaway (Jerri). He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
