He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Lee and Bessie Copeland Nixon; and his sister Jenny Nixon Sheffield. He is survived by: his wife Mica Brock Nixon; his children, Tracie Nixon Scar and Joseph Bryant Nixon (Stacy Barton Nixon) of Greenville, SC; his grandchildren, Joseph Rabun Scarborough, Molly Scar, Pitts (Kendall), Emma Barton Nixon, Sam Brock Nixon and Mary Elizabeth Nixon; and his brothers, Dr. William Harold Nixon (Jo Kenimer Nixon) of Spartanburg, SC and Howard Copeland Nixon (Sue Scott Nixon) of Carrollton, GA.. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In accordance with current guidelines as adopted by the session, those attending are requested to wear face masks indoors.
