He was predeceased by: his parents, William "Willie" Henry Burns, Sr. and Thelma Lowes Burns; his daughter Brenda Kay Burns; and his sister Wilma Workman. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Mims Burns; and his sisters, Wanda McSwain of Forest City, NC and Thelma Roberta Hall of Laurens.
