He is survived by: his wife Ardythe Bergstrom Melby; his children, Kim Holmwood (Rodney) of Cohocton, NY, Allan L. Melby, Jr. (Lynne) of Roaring River, NC and Stephen D. Melby (Isabel) of Lincolnton, NC; his siblings, Susan Harmoning, Mary Rindahl (Don) of Bemidji, MN, Rebecca Svaren (Dale), David Melby (Gloria) of St. Cloud, MN, Michael Melby (Susan), Robert Melby (Phyllis) of Oklee, MN and John Melby (Lori) of Oklee, MN; and his sister-in-law Judy Melby. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces; seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
