He was predeceased by: his parents, Columbus Jackson Goforth and Virginia Stewart Goforth Davidson; and his son Charles Marvin Goforth, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Linda Abernathy Goforth; his sons, Larry Goforth, Jeffrey Goforth, Sr. and Michael Goforth; his stepchildren, Jacqueline Dover, Kelly Dover, Katie Dover and Carl Dover, II; and his siblings, Ruth Wilkerson and Rodney Goforth. He is also survived by six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and one step-great grandchild.
