He was predeceased by: his parents, Emma Bowen Burris and James Matthew Burris, Sr.; his daughter Paula Burris; and his siblings, James Burris, Jr., Mary Lene Knox and Christine Hall.
He is survived by: his son Reverend Jacob Darby Burris; his wife Mamie Burris; his daughters, Angela Knighton (Solomon) and Tracy Owens (Leonard); his grandsons, Jairus Burris, Jeremiah Burris and Clenekeous "CJ" Owens; his great grandchild Jayce Burris; and his siblings, Lewis Burris (Billie), Joshua Burris (Dorothy), Joseph Burris (Mary), Hattie Williams (Adam) and Ruby Boulware. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
