She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parent Claiborne Shields; her husband Robert Lee Barnhill; her mother Dorothy Stroupe Shields of Kenbridge, Virginia; her daughters, Lynn Cleaton (Walter) of South Hill, Cynthia Peebles of San Diego and Lynn Hennessee (Pastor Carroll Hennessee) of Gastonia; her sister Gayle Grant of Kenbridge, Virginia; her grandchildren, Jordan Gwaltney, Chase Cleaton, David Hennessee and Madison Hennessee; and her great grandchild Garrison Gwaltney.
