He was predeceased by: his father Alvin C. Carraway Sr.; and his sons, Terry and Jerry Sweat. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Wiley Carraway; his children, Ricky Sweat (Tara), Alvin C "Sonny" Carraway III (Elizabeth), Tonya Clausing (Jesse), Yvonne McMurry (Mike) and Hope Carraway (Yale); and his sister Daisy Grant. He is also survived by 27 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren.
