With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Deacon Jessie Frierson Sr. (Columbia, South Carolina), born in Bishopville, South Carolina, who passed away on April 3, 2022 at the age of 89. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Frierson, Sr. and Bessie Williams Frierson; his daughters, Carrie Tyretha Sims and Shirley Ann Brown; his wife Irene Monroe; and his brothers, James Frierson, Jr. and Isaac Frierson.

He is survived by: his sons, Jesse Frierson, Jr. of Richmond, VA, Curtis Edward Frierson of Phoenix, AZ and Lawrence Frierson of Stone Mountains, GA; his sister Ada Belle Frierson; and his siblings-in-law, Annie Mae Frierson of Columbia, SC, Rebecca Monroe of Bishopville, SC and Charlie Harriott of Richmond, VA. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces.
