He was predeceased by: his parents, Allen Frye and Julia Barfield Frye; his wife Peggy Blackwell Frye; his son Allen Frye; his stepson John Michael Metts; and his brother Larry Frye.
He is survived by: his daughter Deborah "Diana" McLaughlin; his stepdaughter Denise Stephens (James); his granddaughter Bree McLaughlin; and his siblings, Pearline Mitchum and Kenny Frye (Coleen).
