He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Lionel Gildea and Irene Gildea (Boegel); his children, Robert Gildea Jr. (Rachel) of Franklin, TN and Lari Chillag (Kim) of Columbia, SC; his grandchildren, Zachary Chillag of Charlotte, NC, Jeffrey Chillag (Sanela) of Charlotte, NC, Hannah Chillag of Charlotte, NC, Emily Gildea of Franklin, TN and Jeremy Creech of Franklin, TN; his great grandchild Luke Alexander Chillag of Charlotte; his wife Treva Gildea; and his sister Dorothy Gildea Cunnick.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the United Way of the Midlands (Columbia, SC) or to the Disabled American Veterans, in his name.
