He was predeceased by: his parents, George Hemingway and Rudell Mitchell Hemingway; his wife Geraldine Hemingway; his siblings, George Hemingway, Carrie Grissett and Maggie Owens; and his son LeRoy Hemingway (Rhoda).
He is survived by: his sons, Robert Earl Hemingway (Bennet Hemingway) of Myrtle Beach, SC, Rev. Christopher Johnson (Henry A. Hemingway) and Micheal Anthony Novak of Fayetteville, NC.; and his siblings, Sarah Conner (Rolland) of Conway, SC, Josephine Isom of Atlantic Beach, SC, Francis Pyatt (Patricia Hemingway) and Mary Hannah (Rudell Moultrie) of Columbia, SC. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
