He was predeceased by : his parents, Clyde "Pete" Nettles and Rodel Smoak Nettles; and his brother Bernard Nettles (Tim). He is survived by : his sons, Jackie Nettles, Jr. (Ashley), Craig Nettles (Ashley), Justin Nettles and Eric Nettles (Lauren); his grandchildren, Austin Nettles, Lilli Nettles, Gabriel Nettles, Tyler Nettles, Chastity Nettles, Brianna Nettles, Sylar Nettles, Harley Nettles and Mericlaire Nettles; and his siblings, Sheck Nettles (Louise) and Melba Pursley (Kent). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
