It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Hugh Lawson Collett in Elgin, South Carolina, born in Luttrell, Tennessee, who passed away on January 12, 2021, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Walter Wenstead Collett and Nola Jane Hunter; his wife Roberta Jean Wilson; his brother Dan Collett; his children, Robert Hugh Collett (Teresa), Donna Collett Denham, Dorothy Collett Vanegas (Carlos) and Thomas Walter Collett (Carolina); and his grandchildren, Robert Collett, Jr. (Megan), Christina Krautbauer (Kevin), Laura Forcella (Lucas), Meghan Denham, Scott Denham (Taryn), Kelly Denham, Nicole Porter (Colby), Andres Vanegas (Rebecca), Daniel Concha Rengifo and Thomas Collett. He was also cherished by twelve great-grandchildren.
When the COVID restrictions made staying in Minnesota too isolating, his daughter Dorothy and her husband Carlos welcomed Hugh into their home in South Carolina for what proved to be his final few months with us.
