He was predeceased by: his parents, Glennie Welch and Frances Anderson Welch; and his siblings, Jean and Clifford. He is survived by: his wife Johnnie Young Welch; his children, Lyn Welch (Sarah) and Gaye Hyman (Chris); and his siblings, Gayle Britt, Linda Matthews (Lavon), Gerald Welch (Joyce), Lanier Welch (Catherine), Randy Welch (Brenda) and Bobby Welch (Jeanette).
