It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Henry Powers Sr. (Florence, South Carolina), who passed away on April 15, 2020, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Henry Powers and Annie M. Curry Powers; and his wife Margaret Della Elvington Powers. He is survived by: his children, John Henry Powers, Jr. (Karen) of Florence, Monty Ray Powers (Jayme) of Florence and Glenda Spurlin (Richard) of Danielsville, GA; his grandchildren, Angela Harmon (Hugh), Amy Killough (Dennis), Chasidy Ward, Crystal Stroud, Johnny Powers, Tabitha Castle, Brandy Burroughs (Trey), Jeffrey Nichols (Amanda), Jamie Spurlin (Amy) and Matthew Spurlin; and his sister Annie Ellen Rogers of Pee Dee. He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren.
Due to the COVID-19 concerns, a private graveside service will be held at Thompson Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
