He was predeceased by: his parents, Marion Keith Grimsley, Sr. and Evelyn Hickey Grimsley of Florence, SC; his brother Thomas Edward Grimsley; his stepmother Catherine Reed Grimsley; and his brother-in-law Schofield.

He is survived by: his wife Pamela Dale Dellinger; his children, Kerri Grimsley Roberts (Brent) of Columbia, SC and Matthew Grimsley (April) of Madison, WI; his grandchildren, Caleb, Gracyn, Thomas, Maddie, Ellie, Roberts, Jackson, Olivia and Norah; and his siblings, Becky Grimsley Schofield (VJ) of Atlanta, GA, Betty Sue Readling (Rodney) of Davidson, NC and Dr. Michael E. Reed (Carolyn) of Columbia, SC..
