We are sad to announce that on March 3, 2020, at the age of 92, Sonia Shiragian Blackwell (Florence, South Carolina), born in New York, New York passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Kayane Ghazarian Shiragian and Arshavir Shiragian; her husband Frederick Blackwell; and her cousin Robert Pehlivanian. She is survived by: her friend Fort Tryon Park; her children, Dr. Arshavir Blackwell of West Hollywood, CA, Elizabeth Blackwell Poston (Britt) of Florence, SC and Pinky Blackwell Verma (Richard) of Bethesda, MD.; and her grandchildren, Colby, Cooper Poston, Zoe, Lucy and Dylan Verma.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU), or to an animal charity of one's choice to honor her lifelong love of animals.
