He was predeceased by: his parents, Jonathan Hoyte Carter and Sybil Stacks Carter. He is survived by: his wife Sara Lipscomb Carter; his son Scott Carter (Crystal) of Lancaster; and his grandchildren, Jason Dobbins, Jordan Carter, Matthew Carter, Landon Carter, Connor Sanders and Kaitlyn Sanders.
