He is survived by: his wife Kathy Smith Carpenter; his daughter Kimberly Shivell (Andy); his granddaughters, Sara Grace Shivell and Mary Claire Shivell; and his siblings, Kathy Lee (Scott), Debbie Damery (Rod), Donnie Carpenter and Fred Carpenter.
