He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Odell Jones and Ethel Smith; his wife Mary Evans; his children, Tarita Carter, Hope Sullivan and Phillip Evans of Greenville; and his siblings, Gertrude Palmer of Maryland and Calvin Evans of Greenville. He was also cherished by eight grandchildren, one great grandchild, and a host of other relatives and friends.
