She was predeceased by: her parents, David Wilson McGuirt and Nora Dovie Griffin McGuirt; and her siblings, Howard McGuirt, Bo McGuirt and Sally McClain.

She is survived by: her husband William Coy Helms; her children, Tim Helms, Hal Helms (Robin), Donna Thompson (Jimmy) and Annette Helms; her brother Neal McGuirt; and her grandchildren, Brandy Thompson, Elliot Helms, Addison Helms, Riley Helms and Emily Helms.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Foundation Hospice.
