He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia "Pat" Lynn Bloom; his parents, Robert Thomas (Bob) and Betty Lou Atkinson Thomas; and his brother Wayne Thomas. He is survived by: his son Israel Thomas of Greenville; his siblings, Mark Thomas (Karen) of Illinois and Bonnie Miller (Dewayne) of Indiana; and his sister-in-law Janine Thomas of Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family in care of Israel Thomas, 211 Batesview Drive, Apt. 71, Greenville, SC 29607.
