It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Darlene Phillips (Gaffney, South Carolina), who passed away on September 26, 2020, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Gainesville Tate and Ida Mae Littlejohn; her husband Ed Phillips; her grandchildren, O'Brian Phillips and Terrance Jefferies, Jr.; and her siblings, Acelia Littlejohn, Nannie Tate, James Littlejohn Jr., Johnny Littlejohn, Junnie Tate and Thomas Tate.
She is survived by: her children, Sherry Phillips (Gettys) of Gaffney, Tarsha Jiles (James) of Gaffney, Tammy Phillips of Gaffney, Renata Phillips of Gaffney and Anthony "Troy" Phillips (Danielle) of Charlotte, NC; her sisters, Minnie R. Petty, Sarah Littlejohn, Minister Annie Thompson (Furman), Jackie Littlejohn, Audrey Tate Smith, Beverly Wray and Mary Haney; her aunt Essie Bell Richardson; her uncle Bob Tate; her sister-in-law Gloria Phillips Tate; her brothers, Rodney Tate, Gainesville Tate, Jr. (Billie) and Pete Corry; and her grandchildren, Robert Phillips, Terry Wayne Phillips, Lockajean Phillips, Melinda Palmer, Contrivia Phillips, Shaquielle Phillips, Shondreia Adams, Akiya Phillips, Phantajia Smith and Semaj Watkins. She is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
