He was predeceased by: his parents, James Mason Patterson and Irene Whelchel Patterson; and his siblings-in-law, William M. Harvey Sr., Mitchell Roberson and Rebecca M. Patterson.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Weaver Patterson; his children, Bryan Mason Patterson (Brook) of Gaffney and Ashley Patterson Brizendine (Kevin) of Gaffney; his siblings, Paul K. Patterson of Gaffney, Christine P. Harvey of West Columbia and Betty Sue P. Roberson of Gaffney; his grandchildren, Michael Reynolds, Anna Reynolds of Noah Patterson, J. D, Thomas, Riley Brizendine and Mayson Brizendine; and his brother-in-law Richard Weaver (Belinda) of Landis, NC. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
