He was predeceased by: his wife Yvonne Brown Petty; his parents, Elbert Lee Petty and Susie Coleman Petty; his siblings, Carl Petty, James Petty and Thelma Parris; his sons-in-law, Terry Gene Martin and William Steve Parris; and his grandsons, Alan Parris and Odis "O. J.".
He is survived by: his daughters, Theresa Petty Martin of Gaffney and Karen Petty Parris of Gaffney; his sisters, Hazel Christie (Roy) of Hickory Tavern and Ruby Moore (Robert) of Hickory Tavern; and his grandchildren, Terry Lee Martin, Nathan Allen Martin (Lynn), Troy A. Martin, Jeremie L. Martin (Kimberly), Michael Boyd, Christopher Martin, Brian E. Parris (Sherry) and Daniel Parris. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.
