She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Olanzo "Lon" Whelchel and Folsom Wilson Whelchel; her children, Joe Byars (Nancy) of Gaffney, Kevin Grissom of Gaffney and Janet Byars; and her niece Peggy Childers (Zannie) of Gaffney. She was also cherished by five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; Evelyn's Special Friend, Lucy Parris, of Gaffney; a sister-in-law.
