He was predeceased by: his wife Emma Jean Parker Phillips; his parents, Corbett Phillips and Daisy Bell Sentell Phillips; and his siblings, Roy Lee Phillips, Willie Phillips, George Allan Phillips, Vernon Eugene Phillips, Nannie Rozell Smith, Amanda Henderson, Dora Bonner and Sara Smiley.

He is survived by: his sister Mae Sue Phillips Gillian of Chesnee; and his close friend Sandy Jolly.
